Supply Chain and Purchasing Manager

This innovative business is developing cutting-edge fuel cell technology for heavy duty mobility and large-scale stationary power applications. Their uniquely redesigned product is a significantly more compact fuel cell with high power density and lower costs of production. Faced with the challenges of climate change and the transition to a decentralised energy system, they seek to provide high performance and cost effective fuel cell solutions to their clients and partners.

To help achieve their vision of a decarbonised future they are seeking a highly talented and motivated supply chain manager with strong background in production/automotive sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with project managers and coordinate ordering of new materials & components
  • Regularly control of inventory and component storage
  • Overseeing material ordering, handling, delivering and distribution
  • Travel, seek and build relationships with key suppliers
  • Control delivery of components and inventory
  • Minimise risks affecting the supply chain
  • Devise short- and long-term plans to optimise supply chain management

Skills and Experience Required:

  • BSc/MSc level or equivalent in engineering (preferably mechanical) is mandatory
  • Minimum 3-4 years of previous sourcing experience with suppliers in the areas of engineering commodities, injected plastics, stamped metals, castings, PCBA’s in a low/high volumes high mix engineering hardware business is mandatory
  • Capabilities to use Microsoft Office and importantly ERP software (SAP)
  • Team player with the ability to function autonomously
  • Working with external/internal experts in the field
  • Excellent spoken and written knowledge of English/French is mandatory
  • Good written and spoken knowledge of German or any other language is a plus.
  • Technical purchasing and supply chain qualification such as – CIPS (chartered institute of purchasing and supply), APICS, ISM, or other is a plus
