Chief Enterprise Architect

Lead the design and governance of our enterprise architecture across IT, operational technology (OT), and business systems. Develop and maintain a holistic view of the enterprise ecosystem, ensuring technology investments align with business goals, operational resilience, and information security & regulatory compliance.

Main Duties, including but not limited to:

  • Define, evolve, and govern the enterprise architecture framework encompassing IT systems, Operational Technology, data flows, applications, and infrastructure
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to understand business objectives and translate them into architectural designs and roadmaps
  • Lead architectural design for new data centre developments and upgrades.
  • Ensure enterprise architecture supports resilience, scalability, sustainability, and compliance (e.g. ISO 27001, NIS2, GDPR)
  • Collaborate across the IT & Data Leadership Team to deliver on solution requirements
  • Establish architecture standards, patterns, and guidelines to support consistent delivery and system interoperability
  • Facilitate solution architecture for complex programmes, including mergers, acquisitions, and cloud transformation
  • Provide leadership on technology governance, supporting investment planning and technology transformation decisions
  • Partner with cybersecurity and compliance teams to ensure systems are secure by design
  • Maintain an enterprise-wide view of technology risk, technical debt, and transformation priorities

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Proven experience as an Enterprise Architect or Senior Solution Architect within a critical infrastructure environment
  • Ability to operate at both strategic and tactical levels from board-level engagement to solution-level detail
  • Deep understanding of architectural frameworks and methodologies (e.g. TOGAF, Zachman, ArchiMate).
  • Demonstrated experience with enterprise integration, application rationalisation, and digital transformation
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, able to influence at all levels of the organisation
  • Familiarity with relevant regulatory and compliance environments (e.g. ISO standards, NIS, Cyber Essentials Plus)
