Senior Process Engineer
Green hydrogen plays a central role in shaping a sustainable energy future. This client believes the full potential of renewables can only be realized through large-scale energy storage and the use of hydrogen in heavy-duty transportation and industry. Based on a new and unique patented PEM electrolyser concept, They are developing the next-generation of PEM electrolyser to accelerate the deployment of large-scale green hydrogen production. They are an innovative, fast growing, high-tech company, located just outside Oslo, Norway.
They are currently operating a 1MW PEM electrolyser at the Kårstø gas processing plant in Norway, with units being delivered to Finland and Poland later this year. You will be a key resource in these projects.
Job description
As a Senior Process Engineer, you will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and implementing process engineering solutions for the systems surrounding our PEM electrolyser. You will work closely with the engineering team, contributing to both project execution and product development. This role spans all phases of development – from sales to commissioning and requires a combination of technical expertise in industrial processes, system integration, process control, as well as strong communication skills.
The ideal candidate is technically skilled, proactive, and comfortable working independently while engaging with customers and stakeholders.
Duties and responsibilities
• Design and optimize hydrogen production processes for containerized PEM electrolysers.
• Contribute as a team player in multi-disciplinary and cross-functional teams throughout various projects stages
• Develop process models, simulation and control strategies for our electrolyser systems.
• Contribute to safety reviews, HAZOP studies, and risk assessments.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and automation engineers to ensure efficient system integration.
• Provide technical guidance on gas purification, water treatment and thermal management.
• Support commissioning, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
• Engage with suppliers and partners on process equipment and instrumentation selection and standardization.
• Communicate technical concepts clearly to internal and external stakeholders, including non-technical audiences.
Qualifications and requirements
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical, Process, or Mechanical Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in process engineering, preferably in onshore gas processing, semiconductor manufacturing or chemical processing industries. Experience with Hydrogen production is an advantage.
• Proven ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams.
• Familiarity with industrial safety standards and regulations.
• Experience with technical safety is an advantage.
• Hands-on experience with system testing and commissioning.
